Why Banya Rak
What makes the difference
when it matters most
The practical and personal qualities that clients tell us they value — and that we try to bring to every interaction.
Back to HomeWhat clients find here
Six things that shape the experience of working with Banya Rak.
Genuine confidentiality
Everything stays private. We hold ourselves to professional obligations on discretion, and our records are kept securely.
Written summaries after meetings
After the first meeting, a written summary of the discussion is provided so you can review it at home at your own pace.
Costs agreed before work begins
Fees for each service are stated clearly. For more involved matters, scope and costs are confirmed in writing before we proceed.
No time pressure
We do not encourage decisions under artificial urgency. You take time to think, and you decide what step — if any — comes next.
Plain, accessible language
Legal language is translated into terms you can use. You form your own view based on clear information, not complicated documents.
Children's wellbeing at the centre
In matters involving children, their stability and best interests guide our approach from the start — not just when required by process.
Professional experience in Thai family law
Our team has worked with family law matters in Thailand for over a decade. That experience covers the procedural landscape — courts, documentation requirements, liaison with relevant parties — as well as the human side of guiding clients through situations that are often unfamiliar and unsettling.
We stay current with developments in Thai civil law as they relate to family and matrimonial matters, and we draw on established professional networks where matters require coordination with other specialists.
- Experienced with Thai Civil and Commercial Code family provisions
- Familiar with Bangkok court procedures and documentation requirements
- Experience with cross-border family matters involving foreign nationals
- Small caseload policy — consistent attention from the same adviser
- Written summary provided after the initial meeting
- Options explained in plain language before any decisions are made
- Regular progress updates on ongoing matters
- Dedicated point of contact throughout each matter
Communication that keeps you informed
A common frustration with legal services is not knowing where things stand. At Banya Rak, we try to avoid that entirely. After the first meeting, you receive a written summary. For ongoing matters, you are updated at each significant point.
You will also have a consistent person to speak to — not a different member of staff each time. This continuity makes a practical difference when your matter involves sensitive personal details.
Clear fees with no unexpected additions
The initial meeting is ฿2,600 and the parenting guidance service is ฿4,900. These are fixed. For full matter support, we agree the scope and cost with you before any work begins and confirm it in writing.
We do not add costs after the fact. If something changes the scope of what is needed, we discuss it with you first and wait for your agreement before proceeding.
- Fixed fees for the initial meeting and parenting guidance
- Written cost agreement before any complex work begins
- No changes to agreed fees without your prior knowledge
- Fees stated in Thai baht — no currency ambiguity

What we offer that is less common
A few elements of our practice that reflect a deliberate choice about how family law support should feel.
Written summary after every first meeting
Most practices do not provide a written record of what was discussed in an initial meeting. We do — so you can refer back to it, share it with someone you trust, or simply have it to hand when you think things through.
No obligation at first meeting
The initial meeting carries no expectation to continue. It exists purely for you to hear what your options are and ask any questions you have. There is no moment of pressure and no follow-up sales call.
Intentionally small caseload
We take on fewer clients than many practices so that the people who do work with us receive unhurried, consistent attention. This is a deliberate choice, not a limitation.
Experience with international family matters
Bangkok has many families with connections to more than one country. We have experience navigating the additional complexities that arise when family matters involve foreign nationals or cross-border elements.
Recognition and milestones
